Boyd Bond

Boyd Bond

Boyd Bond describes his upbringing as a member of the Bond Family, who played an integral part in the history of Kohala. He’s a fifth generation descendent of Dr. Elias Bond, a missionary who came to Kohala in 1841. Over the years, the Bonds built a collection of buildings and homestead (now called the Bond Historic District), including the Kalahikiola Church and the Kohala Seminary. In 1862 Dr. Bond built the Kohala Sugar Plantation. Boyd also describes his kuleana in carrying forth the history and the legacy of his family and Kohala.
